Three weeks down! - Izzy Jennings
I cannot believe that we are now three weeks into the most amazing study abroad trip. Trying to soak in the last week while also being so appreciative of every moment these past few weeks has me filled with so many emotions.
Monday was such an extra special day with Memorial Day! Never did I think I would be spending Memorial Day in another country, on the most beautiful beach, surrounded by such special people. Playing the most patriotic songs all day and even at karaoke that night was so much fun! It was definitely a refreshing change from our usual routines and song selection on a Monday night. On Tuesday Lily and I had our first takeover day. We started the day with class, spent the afternoon finalizing our social media and brand audit projects, and ended the night with Maho. We walked over to Maho with the sunset and had the best 2-dollar tacos at Three Amigos along with exploring some of the other spots downtown throughout the night. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to document such an enjoyable experience for my friends to view on our Instagram account!

Wednesday was definitely a little more nerve-wracking with our social media and brand audit presentations. Every group's project was so great, and everyone has such unique ideas. Being able to obtain a glimpse into what our final project will be like was definitely enlightening and aligned with hearing other perspectives. That evening, a group of us gathered at the beach for a bonfire. That moment is definitely a core memory and something I will miss once this trip comes to an end. Listening to music, eating smores, and having the most genuine conversations is what made the night truly special. The following day, Thursday, was more of a relaxed-paced day with class and a lovely beach day. This week in class, we learned more about the Quid platform and our final project. We ended the night going to Maho again! It is so interesting to see the different vibes from each area around the island.

Friday was excursion day! It is a truly unique experience to swim around two beautiful islands with your closest friends. The snorkeling in Prickly Pear was so gorgeous; I have never seen anything like it, and we even got to see some stingrays! I thoroughly enjoyed sitting at the front of the boat, engaging in conversation and taking in the sights as we navigated around. The weekend was very relaxed, as on Saturday we went to Marigot and got some excellent work done on our projects at the French bakery. Later that night a group of us got together to go to Maho again. The fact that the Sapphire is within walking distance of such a vibrant area is a significant bonus! Today started early with watching the sunrise from the balcony. It was truly a moment when you remember gratitude. We spent the rest of the day recharging and getting ready for this next week!
I absolutely cannot believe the last week is here. I am so grateful for this experience yet so sad that it has to end! Three weeks has felt like the shortest time, with every day being something new and exciting, yet it feels like we have been here for so much longer with the number of connections and memories made. I can't wait to enjoy every
moment of this last week!
